Dear Horned Frogs,
At Texas Christian University, we know that growth is more than just a measure of success—it’s a way of life. Growth happens in classrooms, on the field, in conversations that expand our thinking and in the moments that challenge us to become the best version of ourselves.
This year, we’re thrilled to welcome the Class of 2029, a group of remarkable students whose journeys of growth are just beginning here in Fort Worth.
This incoming class is the largest – and one of the most impressive – in our history, with over 2,700 new Horned Frogs arriving to campus. Each student brings not only their individual story but also the promise of what we can achieve together.
Their academic interests reflect both focus and possibility. The top areas of study among this class include the Neeley School of Business, the College of Science & Engineering, and the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences. And what excites me just as much is that our fourth most popular area of study is Pre-Major (Undecided). I love it! It means many of our newest Horned Frogs are keeping their minds and hearts open, ready to explore their passions and embrace new opportunities. At TCU, we believe in providing the freedom and support to discover your path—and we can’t wait to see where it takes you.
The Class of 2029 is trailblazing in every sense. First-generation students make up 17.6% of the class, boldly forging new paths for themselves and their families. Nearly half of the class, 45.2%, comes from Texas, while the other half brings perspectives from across the country and around the world. Among them are 47 valedictorians, and 324 had a perfect 4.0 GPA in high school. The class carries an impressive average GPA of 3.65—a testament to their academic excellence and commitment to growth.
The Student-Centered Growth pillar of our new LEAD ON: Values in Action strategic plan isn’t just about new residence halls and the construction you see on Berry St. or even the size of our incoming class. It’s about cultivating personal growth, knowledge, character and leadership. The Class of 2029 embodies that promise. They’ve already proven their ability to achieve, and now they’ll discover how to transform those achievements into lives of meaning and purpose.
To the Class of 2029: You’ve worked hard to get here. Now, your growth will take on new dimensions. Over the next four years, you will be challenged, supported and celebrated. You’ll grow alongside classmates who will become lifelong friends, professors who will become mentors and a community that will cheer you on every step of the way.
Welcome to TCU. Your journey of growth starts now—and we can’t wait to see how far you’ll go.
Go Frogs!
