Lead On

Posted on

Dear Horned Frogs,

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for Texas Christian University. I am deeply honored to begin my role as TCU’s 11th Chancellor. We have an exciting road ahead, and I am enthusiastic about the journey that, in many ways, we have already started together.

Thank you, TCU community, for your trust, support and encouragement as President and now as Chancellor. As I step into this role, I am reminded of the incredible legacy of excellence that has been built at TCU over the last 152 years by all of those who love TCU. I am especially thankful for the support of our dedicated Board of Trustees and the leadership of Chancellor Boschini, who will continue to serve TCU as Chancellor Emeritus.

Throughout our history, we’ve seen that when Horned Frogs come together with purpose, mission, vision and shared values, there are no limits to what they can achieve. Your dedication and hard work have made TCU what it is today, and I am honored to be part of this community. The TCU of today – and the TCU of tomorrow – is entrusted to each one of us. It is our time to Lead On, and I am grateful for the opportunity to do so with you.

We are making excellent progress on our bold path to the future with our LEAD ON: Values in Action strategic plan as our roadmap. TCU is positioned for a future that will further advance our mission and inspire generations of Horned Frogs:

  • Together, we are working to enhance our impact and student outcomes through student-centered growth. We are already preparing to welcome our most academically qualified and largest incoming class of first-year students for Fall 2025.
  • In the classroom, performance halls and labs, our focus on hands-on experience, innovation and discovery has already led to record research expenditures and strengthened TCU’s academic reputation.
  • TCU Athletics is developing student-athletes and programs that continue to win championships and the hearts of our fans.
  • In Fort Worth and beyond, we are a model university for how institutions of higher education can impact and enhance the economic and cultural fabric of the communities we serve – and this will only continue to grow.

Serving and leading this great university into the future is the honor of a lifetime. I’ve shared before one of my favorite quotes from Ralph Waldo Emerson and am reminded of this quote again today:

“Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”

As we look to the future, join me in a spirit of enthusiasm for the mission and vision of Texas Christian University. Together, we will write the next chapter of TCU’s history, and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together.

Lead On and Go Frogs!
