Summer of Excellence

Posted on

Dear Horned Frogs,

Summer is a special time at Texas Christian University. One of my greatest joys is meeting incoming students and families. Their excitement, dreams and anticipation for the academic journey ahead are contagious and remind me why our Horned Frog community is so extraordinary.

While everyone on campus plays an essential role in welcoming incoming students, there are several faculty, staff and students who spend their summer dedicated to acclimating this group to our campus culture and preparing them for academic and personal success. TCU New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) is the team of staff and student leaders who spend the year getting ready for summer Orientation sessions and Frog Camps. Summer is like their Super Bowl – it’s their time to put everything they have practiced and prepared for into action.

NSFP is the first group to officially welcome the Class of 2029 (on track to be our largest incoming first-year class in history), and they have done so with enduring enthusiasm and our TCU values at the center. From orienting students and families to our mission, to advising, housing and campus safety, each orientation session is thoughtfully crafted with integrity, community, engagement and excellence at the forefront. As we continue to advance our LEAD ON: Values in Action strategic plan and grow our student body, fostering personal connections and building community from day one – just like our NSFP team has done this summer – will remain essential in keeping Horned Frogs connected and engaged.

During Orientation, I had the chance to ask our student leaders, staff, faculty and incoming students to share their thoughts about TCU’s core values. I think you’ll find their responses just as inspiring as I have:

Thank you to all our student leaders, staff and faculty for their hard work and dedication this summer, ensuring that our newest Horned Frogs feel at home and ready to begin their TCU journey. Now, we turn our attention to move-in days, Frogs First programming and the first week of classes. It’s going to be an incredible year!

Thank you, Horned Frogs, for another summer of excellence at TCU.

Lead On and Go Frogs!
